Assignment 4: Paint to Music

#1 Music Artworks (Black Coloured)

For this part of the assignment, we had to explore patterns by listening to all types of different music. We need to follow the flow of the musics that we are listening to make patterns. For this, I mainly listen to R&B and indie pop music genres while exploring my patterns. Here are the patterns that I did:

After much practice about pattern explorations from our previous assignment, I managed to come out with some interesting ones in this assignments. I also used the marbling method which I learned from 1 of our 2D homework to do my patterns.

#2 Music Artwork (Coloured)

This is the second part for this assignment, we were tasked to explore further more by putting colours into our patterns exploration. Same old method as the first part of the assignment, listening to musics that you like and making patterns according to it. Just like the first part of the assignment, I mainly listen to R&B and indie pop music genres while exploring the patterns. Here are the patterns that I did:

I found this part of the assignment quite to my liking because we can explore more interesting patterns with colours. As always, I also used the marbling technique for this part. 

#3 Final Music Artwork

For the final part of this assignment, we are required to produce 2 pieces of artwork based on 1 contemporary music and 1 classical music. Both pieces need to be A3 sized. I was very excited for this.

My artwork based on a classical music:

This is my classical music artwork. I chose Elvis Presley's Jailhouse Rock as my classical music since he is one of my favourite classic artist since young. For this artwork, I used the colour purple and green to produce it. I kept it simple, by just using 2 of my fingers to kind of rub around the artwork to create some sort of pattern.

My second artwork based on a contemporary music:

For my second artwork, I chose The Weeknd's Die for You as my contemporary. For this artwork, I used several colours. I dilluted all the colours and drip some drops at 2 edges of the paper. After that, I blew the colours with a straw so the results is kind of like colours from 2 sides of the edges is connecting with each other.
