Exhibition: Grit & Grace

This exhibition was to showcase the photographs and works by SC Shekar, a Malaysia veteran photographer. Most of his works in the exhibition was taken at the rural part of Malaysia in the past 3 years. His photos were all in black and white and mainly consist of landscape shots. His aim for this project was to capture the heart of Malaysia and to let the future generations of Malaysia to know more about our nation through these photos and rich stories. Here are 3 photos that I picked from the exhibition which in my opinion are some of his best works.

This stunning shot was taken in Waterways, Sarawak by SC Shekar. I am amazed with how this photo is built up. From the skies to the hilly moutains surrounding a never ending river. I think the main object of the shot is definitly the river. I like how it is cutting through the moutains and ending at the sea. The cloudy clouds also made up with the photo very well.

I like how he gets to capture the whole city of Georgetown, Penang. I particularly chose this picture of Penang because I never knew Penang is actually this big until I saw this picture that he took. It was also nice that the harbour, the city, and the tall buildings can all be seen in just a picture.

This photo of a family was taken at the rural part of Malaysia. I felt that the story and the meaning behind this photo is very strong. I like how the guy in the photo was trying to show that he is the main man of the family. The surrounding of the picture is also peaceful and serene when this photo was taken.
